The women’s team ended the season with a 3-3 win-loss record, while the men’s team struggled and ended the season with a 1-5 win-loss record.

Jessica Chen placed first in the 50, 100 and 200 yd. freestyle events as well as Deborah Hefter sharing similar success in the 50 and 100 yd. backstroke.

Hefter was not only named All-American for her performance in the water, but also Academic All-American for her excellent grades.

Even though the men’s team was small in numbers, Marcus Bolder placed 11th in the 3-meter diving event and 10th in the 1-meter diving event at the State Championships in Ohlone, Calif. May 3 to 5.

During the Western State Conference Championship in Santa Monica April 26 to 28, the women’s team placed 4th while the men’s team placed 7th. “The season went well,” said Head Coach Fred Shaw. “I look forward to next season even though some of our star players won’t be returning.”
