Representatives from Southern California colleges including those of the UC and CSU systems will set up booths to provide free information and giveaways to interested students during the 10th annual Fall College and University Fair, which will take place on the mall today from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

This event has been hosted by Pierce College every fall for the past decade as part of an effort to inform students about their transfer schools of choice.

Transfer Center assistant Joe Garcia has helped organize the fair for the past  five years.

“The reason why we put on this event is for students to get the opportunity to meet with representatives from area colleges and universities that they wish to transfer to, schools like UCLA and CSUN,” Garcia said.

No appointments are necessary and all students interested are welcome to attend. Most schools in the CSU and UC systems, as well as other schools including Mount Saint Mary’s, will be present.

“We invite all the schools to attend and in my experience working here, as far as taking care of the college fair, there are usually few exceptions in attendance,” Garcia said. “Most UC and CSU schools do attend.”
