Pierce schedules blood drive for Garber’s son

Pierce College and the UCLA Blood Center will be having a Blood Drive Aug. 25 for President Robert Garber’s son, Jesse, 23, according to an e-mail sent by Joy McCaslin, vice president of student services.

Garber announced his early retirement last week to care for his son, who has been diagnosed with acute liver failure and is on a waiting list for a liver transplant.

The drive will be in the Pierce Campus Center 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.  For more information, call Beth Benne, health services director, at 818-710-4270.
