Brahmas and Barbeque.

 

 

Teacher, Administrators, Football players, and fans all came together to for some good smelling barbecue, Friday at 2:00 pm  They let loose and relaxed while they’re  getting ready for there first home opening game. The athletic directors had put barbecues together in the past, especially during the start of the play-offs. Last year all of Pierce Colleges’ athletes came together before the start of their seasons, to eat and have a day to relax and enjoy themselves. Bob Lofrano, athletic director, says” When we have social gatherings together like this, it’s good for the athlete’s to bond, and it teaches them valuable social skills. The gathering was held on John Sheppard field, on the top platform on the home team’s side. Barbara Anderson, Dean of Academic Affairs was also there. She said” I go to all of Pierces sporting events” She made the team a batch of brownies says” I used sugar, flour, eggs, and milk with a mix of love, that I hope will bring touchdowns.” She also remembers times when previous President Rocky Young, use to invite player to his house when they did a good job.” As the football team sat around and enjoyed their barbecue and Brownies that were made out of love, they laughed and talked and prepared themselves for Saturday night’s game. The Barhmas quarterback Exavier Johnson says,” I like when our coaches put gatherings like this for us, it gives us a chance to bond together it makes us closer as a family.  Franky Anaya also attended the event even though he has been out for the first three games. Anaya had suffered a torn shoulder injury last season, but was finally cleared to play by his doctor. Anaya says,” It’s kind of depressing to not play and just watch, but were a team and I support them all the way.”
