AGS raises money for shelter

The Alpha Gamma Sigma honor society (AGS) sold food on the mall Thursday to raise money for the Children of the Night shelter which houses individuals who are the victims of sexual trafficking.

Volunteers from the honor society made fresh pasta and brought pizza and soda to sell, as well water to give away to hot and thirsty students.

“A lot of our charity has been for children,” said Nancy Miret, AGS president.

AGS plans to hold a bake sale Tuesday, May 3, and a canned food drive from May 9-13.

“Part of our mission is to give back to our community,” said Miret.
