ASO plans relay race to benefit cancer research
The Associated Student Organization announced Monday that they will be organizing the Relay For Life event.
This is a 24-hour relay race to help raise funds for the American Cancer Society.
The race will start on April 28th at 8 a.m. on the track by the soccer field and continue without stopping for 24 hours. There will be tents with beverages for sale and food trucks for the event, according ASO President Shane Mooney.
“I did it last year for French Club,” said Mooney. ”Our advisor, professor Sylvie Young, was a cancer survivor.”
All the money raised from the race will be donated to the American Cancer Society, according to Mooney. The ASO still needs students and non-students to participate in the race or help raise donations
Students don’t have to commit to the full 24 hours to participate.
Registering for the race ahead of time is preferred, but students can show up the day off the event and register for free, according to Mooney.
