Plant Facilities works to repair broken water pipe

A major water line break in front of the North Gym Friday morning at approximately 7:45 a.m. rendered most of the structures on campus waterless for a few minutes, said a Sheriffs Department security officer.

Security Officer John Weber, who was at the scene, said that he did not know what happened prior to the water line breakage.

“We were called to help keep students back,” he said.

It did not take more than 10 minutes for the problem to be repaired, said Weber.

The Computer Science, Math, North Gym, South Gym, pool, Central Plant Facilities, and the entire village were affected by the incident, according to an e-mail sent by Plant Facilities Director Paul Nieman.
