Both football players and fans alike were left in the dark at John Shepard Stadium after a power outage in Woodland Hills on Saturday evening.

A single vehicle collision caused the power failure across Pierce College and the surrounding neighborhood, according to Sergeant Mike Wolfe of the Pierce College sheriff’s station.

An unidentified man was extracted by firefighters from his vehicle after he collided with a power pole on the 6000 block of Winnetka Avenue in Woodland Hills just before 7 p.m., according to the Woodland Hills Patch.

The driver is in critical condition at a nearby trauma center, according to the Patch.

Representatives of the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (DWP) were at the scene of the wreck making repairs.

There was no appreciable damage done to the base of the pole, however a 34,500 volt high-line circuit did blow, according to the DWP Electric Trouble Supervisor that was on the scene.

Permanent repairs should be made tonight with power expected to be restored to residents within two hours, according to the supervisor.

The Brahmas were scheduled to face-off against Moorpark College, however the game was postponed due to the blackout and they will meet again on Monday at 6p.m.

Reimbursements were issued to fans, after a proof of purchase was shown.

Athletic Director Bob Lofrano confirmed that there will be free admission for all that attend Monday’s home game.
