Pierce College’s Vegan Society will host an event called “Eat Tofurkey, Not Turkey!” on Tuesday, Nov. 18, to spread awareness about the Thanksgiving-turkey alternative.
Tofurkey is a brand of turkey substitute that is made from wheat protein and tofu by Oregon-based company Turtle Island Foods.
The club will offer free samples of Tofurkey sandwiches, and will give away Tofurkey coupons and vegan starter guides.
There will also be a club member dressed in a turkey costume.
The “Eat Tofurkey, Not Turkey!” event is on Tuesday, Nov. 18, from 10:30 a.m. to around 12:30 p.m. on the Mall.
