Armenian Genocide
“Who remembers the Armenians?” When Adolf Hitler asked his subordinates during World War II whether any of them recall the killings of more than 1 million Armenians in the early 1900s, there was no response. Today, Pierce College is taking the first steps in spreading awareness of the Armenian Genocide through the medium of art, with the opening of the “Power of the Poster” exhibition in April – the month of commemoration of the genocide.

Money added to a ‘grim’ budget
The college will add $2.4 million to its budget by the end of the year as a result of overall growth, according to an announcement by Pierce College President Robert Garber at Monday’s Academic Senate meeting. The topic of discussion for the ENCORE/Oasis lecture series for the week of March 6 was on a very controversial subject: “Should We Be Allowed to Sell Our Organs: Ethical Ramifications.” The lecture program hosts a meeting every week in the Campus Center to discuss issues that pertain to everyday life.
