Parking lot assault:

Jan. 11 10:15 a.m.: Two suspects assaulted victim, striking him several times while stealing his baseball hat in Lot 7. When one of the suspects took the hat from the victim’s head, the victim resisted, which prompted the suspects to assault him, one striking him in the jaw several times, the other suspect striking him in the back of the head. The suspects fled through the horticulture area and remain at large. A description of the suspects was unavailable.

Ipod theft turns heads:

Jan. 19 2:00 p.m.: Student employee’s Video iPod was stolen from the counter of Freudian Sip while victim’s back was turned. The iPod, worth $470, was black and chrome with an inscription on the back of “OKEMIA THE ADORABLE ONE!” Sheriff’s Department investigators reviewed video surveillance of the coffee shop, but have no suspects.

American ‘Roundball’ graffiti:

Jan. 21to 22: Sometime between 8:00 a.m. Jan. 21 and 5:00 a.m. Jan. 22, the Women’s Gym was vandalized, causing nearly $2600 damage to the stucco walls and metal reinforcements. The incident is believed by authorities to have taken place during an American Roundball event, which takes place at the gym weekends year-round . The Sheriffs Department is “blaming” the vandalism on one of the roundball teams, but has no suspects.

Emails, sex and identity theft

Jan. 24 2:00 p.m.: Victim’s personal e-mail address and other personal information was given to third party through possible unauthorized access of school’s computerized registration system. The victim received an unsolicited e-mail purporting to be from a Pierce College student advertising a live sex party. Having only recently registering for classes via the school’s online registration system, the victim’s husband reported the incident to the Pierce Sheriff’s Department substation. The substation has forwarded the case to the Sheriff’s Department Identity Theft Unit.

According to an employee of the Sheriff’s Department, this is the first crime of its kind to occur at Pierce.
