An informal memorial for Bert Sanchez will take place Monday from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the Performing Arts Building’s Mainstage.
Sanchez, who taught at Pierce College for 11 years, died Friday, March 9 at Los Robles Hospital and Medical Center in Thousand Oaks.
He was 59.
As an instructor in the business administration department, Sanchez organized trips to China for students and faculty to learn about cultural dynamics in business practices.
Additionally, Sanchez’s family has created the “Bert Sanchez International Business Student Scholarship” through the Foundation for Pierce College.

Faculty, staff and students from the campus are invited to Monday’s memorial and are encouraged to share stories or remembrances of Sanchez.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanette, and a son.
