Deadline to drop or add: Nov. 19

The deadline to drop a class for Fall Semester 2004 and still receive a grade of W is Friday.

Students are responsible to complete a drop card, which can be obtained in the Admissions and Records Office. Those enrolled in a class they are not attending can receive a grade of F if they do not fill out and turn in a drop card.

In addition, letters that went home to students earlier this month from the Admissions and Records Office stated that students may still add certain classes.

Students attending classes they are not officially enrolled in can add the class if they obtain an add card from the instructor and have it processed by Friday.

Equestrian Center tour, lecture today

A tour of the new Equestrian Center at Pierce will take place today at 1 p.m. and will include a lecture by its director, Ron Wechsler, professor of animal science.

Those interested in todayís tour, which is part of a series of lectures about the geography of the Pierce campus, should meet at the Animal Sciences Building on the north side of El Rancho Drive.

$30,000 scholarship available

Students of community colleges and their recent alumni are eligible to apply for a $30,000 scholarship to use toward pursuing a four-year degree.

The deadline to apply is Dec. 2. A list of scholarship requirements and application materials are available online at www.jackkentcookefoundation.org

College closed for Thanksgiving holiday

The campus at Pierce will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday, Nov. 25-28. Classes will resume Nov. 29.

Winter Session class schedules available Fri.

Class schedules for Winter Session 2005 will be available on campus Friday.

Winter Session will take place Jan. 4 to Feb. 4. There will be about 200 classes to choose from, and night classes will be offered for the first time.

Currently enrolled students can register for Winter Session now and new students can enroll beginning Monday.
