New online casino gaming classes are now being offered at the Pierce College Extension.
The program is designed to train people who are interested in a career in the casino gaming industry. As it doesn’t look like playing online casino games will be going anywhere anytime soon, especially with sites like kirinbet that exists. No wonder why a course like this is being offered.
The Pierce College Extension, in partnership with Gatlin Education Services (GES), is offering a handful of new gaming-related courses.
The program consists of three courses: Casino Baccarat Dealer, Casino Blackjack Dealer and Casino Poker Dealer. Joining an online casino like casino dream is also a good way to familiarise yourself with popular table and slot games. It’s also great fun!
“These classes are mainly geared for people who want to do business in the casinos,” said Cindy Chang, director of community services, who has been anticipating offering these new classes to students who are interested in the casino gaming industry.
“The classes give them the training they need in becoming a dealer,” she said.
The program’s goal is to offer students the opportunity to learn the methods, skills and mannerisms of professional casino dealers.
Skills that are taught include shuffling, handling cheques and betting procedures in the world of the casino game industry.
“Once they finish the training, they will get a certificate and start working in any casinos,” said Chang. “They don’t have to go Las Vegas. There are other locations that are close by.”
The program is open enrollment, which means that a student can start whenever he/she desires to, and complete the courses without dealing with due dates and deadlines that most classes demand.
GES is a Web-based teaching material, offering instructor-supported training to community colleges and universities.
Gatlin’s online career training courses are open enrollment, allowing interested students to start their desired training immediately.
The Casino Baccarat class costs $1,195 and will require 75 hours to complete the course.
Both the Blackjack and Poker Dealer classes cost $1,395 and require 100 hours each to complete the classes.
“We basically established these classes because of higher demands on casino dealership jobs,” said Angela Moore, GES representative. “Johnny Chan Academy saw the high demand for the job, so they launched the program.”
Casino gaming dealership is a booming industry for those seeking employment in the casino gaming industry.
New casinos are being built everyday, especially in Northern California.
“They [Chan Academy] were seeing job demands in Northern California and Southern California. For example, San Diego,” said Chang. “More and more construction of casinos is taking place there, so GES decided to start the program.”
“We launched the Poker Dealer class in July 2007,” said Moore. “Then, with Johnny Chan Academy’s support, we were able to add two courses, the Baccarat and Blackjack Dealer classes, which GES launched a month after.”
“GES uses the Chan Academy Web-based tools,” Chang said. “The instructor of the Blackjack Dealer class is straight from Johnny Chan Academy.
Teachers and students can contact each other through e-mails.”
All courses are Web-based interaction; students will be provided a book once enrolled, and then will be instructed by the teacher via e-mail and video feed.
After completing the hours demanded by each course, students must take a test in order to get the certificate.
Although the courses are intended for future dealers, some think they could be beneficial for players as well.
“We have students who are from Washington taking classes,” said Chang.
“Students can enroll anytime, all they need is a computer and the Internet and they’re all set. It’s such an ease taking classes in your house or wherever you desire to take it.”
“I think this is great. If you know how to play like the dealers, you can make a lot of money,” said Edward Gonzales, a student who is interested in finding out more about the courses.
“I have a friend who plays online poker and one night, he won $20,000. If they can teach me the skills, I’d join.”
