As college students, most of our time is spent on the Internet. Whether doing homework, shopping or checking MySpace, much of your information is stored online. But be careful to whom you hand out information; it could be a scam known as “phishing.” Internet phishing is a trick where people send out bogus e-mails trying to get personal and credit information.

O.J. Simpson is once again in the news. This time, it’s because of allegations of kidnapping and robbery stemming from a Sept. 13 confrontation with sports memorabilia collectors in a hotel room in Las Vegas. As the media keep me updated on the latest developments in the story, I start to wonder how long the trial will last.

New grading system sparks debate
Nick Habib, Ph.D., chair of the philosophy department, introduced a new grading proposal during a Sept. 24 Academic Senate meeting. The new system would implement plus (+) and minus (-) grades on transcripts. Habib is a Pierce College philosophy professor and part-time California State University, Northridge ( CSUN) professor.
