The successful video game franchise that is known as Resident Evil deals with one thing only: Survival Horror. In every sense, this genre has propelled the series to its current stature on various gaming systems.

This time, it’s because of allegations of kidnapping and robbery stemming from a Sept. 13 confrontation with sports memorabilia collectors in a hotel room in Las Vegas. As the media keep me updated on the latest developments in the story, I start to wonder how long the trial will last.

The sun couldn’t have been brighter for the Pierce College Women’s soccer team on Sept. 25. The Brahmas hosted Valley College, at The Pit, dismissed them with a 6-0 shut out win to start the Western State Conference tournament. “It was the best game of the year,” said Brahma coach Adolfo Perez of his team’s 10th game of the 2007 season.

Now, the California Public Utilities Commission is proposing a new area code for the Valley – 747. For more than 20 years, the Valley has avoided the area code cut outs that has hit much of Southern California.
