Injured male escorted off campus to hospital

A male found lying on the ground near the North Gym and unable to get up was taken to West Hills Hospital by the Los Angeles Fire Department at around 12:45 p.m. today.

The man slipped on a pothole and complained of ankle pain in both legs, according to Senior Lead Deputy Jeanine Swanson.

It is unknown whether or not the injured male is a student.

Swanson said that the Pierce College Sheriff’s Department received a call from one of the blue emergency phone poles on campus around 12:30 p.m. and proceeded to call the LAFD.

“Apparently what happened is he stumbled and twisted his left leg,” said Sky MacPherson, an assistant professor of speech who walked past the crowd of people shortly after the incident occurred.

The campus Sheriff’s Department would not release the name of the injured male.

A staff member at West Hills Hospital said that they did not believe the injured man was a student, but would not release any information about his condition.
