Late-game heroes save Brahmas
Pierce College locked horns with the Oilers of West Los Angeles College on Saturday at Joe Kelley Field and erupted for 15 runs, just enough to edge out a 15-14 win in a thriller of a game. Nick Devian led the way with a walk-off base hit up the middle in the last of the ninth.
Online assistance for teachers, students
Say goodbye to sprinting to class after a long night of procrastination – for many students, handing in assignments will be just a tap of the keyboard and a click of the mouse away. In almost 275 courses, more than 60 instructors at Pierce College are using Moodle to display course materials for students, according to the Moodle site for Pierce.
Cheating: more high tech than ever before
A fail. A zero. Suspension. Possible expulsion. An Academic Dishonesty Report on file. These are the possible disciplinary actions for cheating. The decision to cheat or not to cheat remains fully in the student’s own hands. The consequences can be severe and may end up costing a lot in the long run.

Emboldened by a recent departure from the decades-old bungalows, the program’s professors strive to provide students with the opportunity to succeed in the constantly changing field of electronics.
It’s not easy being ‘green’
For Pierce College to merit the label “green,” it should require every aspect of this school to be eco-conscious – this, we have not yet fully achieved. The Clinton Climate Initiative honored the Los Angeles Community College District’s Green Building Program, which is the highest environmental accolade in the state, but how much of the school’s efforts are going to waste? Every environmentally-efficient act the school and district takes seems to be countered by an almost equally harmful one.
