Day-to-day fray
To work 20 hours a week, carry 12 units and be a single parent of a 4-year-old child is enough to keep anyone busy. This is how Melissa Alvarado lives on a day-to-day basis. Alvarado, 26, a possible business or accounting major, is an active mother whose days never seem to end.
Armenian Genocide
“Who remembers the Armenians?” When Adolf Hitler asked his subordinates during World War II whether any of them recall the killings of more than 1 million Armenians in the early 1900s, there was no response. Today, Pierce College is taking the first steps in spreading awareness of the Armenian Genocide through the medium of art, with the opening of the “Power of the Poster” exhibition in April – the month of commemoration of the genocide.

However, the prevailing reaction is hope for a change, which Assemblyman Mike Eng (D-Monterey Park) is trying to bring to life by passing a bill that teaches tolerance and acceptance of other people’s sexuality.
Late-game heroes save Brahmas
Pierce College locked horns with the Oilers of West Los Angeles College on Saturday at Joe Kelley Field and erupted for 15 runs, just enough to edge out a 15-14 win in a thriller of a game. Nick Devian led the way with a walk-off base hit up the middle in the last of the ninth.
Online assistance for teachers, students
