Boulevard painted red:

A machine fills the atmosphere with smoke, as 20-somethings dance the night away. Infused with the color red, generated by machines and red satin table covers, Club Red Square sets a fun and sexy vibe for club patrons.

Every Thursday night, Club Red Square, located on Ventura Boulevard, hosts “Club Fusion,” mixing the sounds of hip-hop, reggaeton and Latin music. A small club with two fully stocked bars and a stage full of go-go dancers leaves the strict security with a big job on their hands.

Shorts, dresses, midriffs and stilettos seemed to set the dress code for the ladies. There were about five women to every guy, so the dance floor was dominated by the ladies. A few brave guys stepped up to the challenge, and the ladies were winning.

As the night went on, more people continued to show up. Soon, the club was packed as well as the dance floor, and as the music pumped up with the latest hits, the crowd pumped up even more.

Surprisingly, the bar lines were very short; not too many club-goers were interested in alcohol.

Red Square’s lounge setting, composed with personal booths and tables topped with red candles burning, created a romantic and personal atmosphere for those who weren’t on the dance floor.

The dance floor is far enough from the lounge area to create a double atmosphere to accommodate everybody’s club experience.

Red Square is open on different nights of the week for other events. There is also a bar and grill available on days of a mellow ambience in the club, where the lounge area is the center of attention.

With the versatility of a club and a lounge, it seems Red Square is a great addition to the San Fernando Valley. Since it was my first time at a club in the Valley, it really exceeded my expectations. I thought the club would be dry and empty, but in the end Red Square danced circles around me. I would definitely go back on a more mellow night, because the lounge atmosphere is more of my style.

Overall, Red Square is a great venue because it’s a very romantic and intimate multi-purpose atmosphere that can be used for more than one event.
