The movie, “Sex Drive,” attracted me by the name but did not seem too pleasant from the previews. At first, based on the title, I thought it might be the kind of film that you could find on a website such as fuckvideosxxx. However, it turned out to be funny and interesting.
The movie had a little bit of everything you would not expect in one movie. The movie included nude scenes, action packed moments, many funny scenes and of course a love story right in the middle of it all.
Ian, played by Josh Zuckerman, is a conservative virgin that just graduated high school. He looks on the internet and finds a sexy blonde to chat with. Ms. Tasty, the sexy blond, encourages Ian to come see her in Knoxville, Tennessee. Ian’s jerk of an older brother, Rex, is played by James Marsden. Rex has a 1969 Pontiac GTO that’s sitting in the garage and calling Ian’s name, to take it on a road trip while Rex is out of town.
Best friends Felicia, played by Amanda Crew, and Lance, played by Clark Duke, came along for the ride to Ian’s non-virgin future. Felicia was a caring and supportive friend through the whole trip, even though Ian tried to kiss her at Lance’s party. Lance is the friend that you wish you could be like, bold and with no boundaries.
The road trip had many obstacles such as Ian saving Lance from being killed by the boyfriend of one of his flings, or car-trouble they thought could be fixed by peeing in a water-deprived radiator.
Ending up in jail was not going to stop Ian from meeting Ms. Tasty at midnight and not a minute later. He was going to finally see her after looking forward to it for so long.
Ian finally realized he loved Felicia more than a friend in the middle of his visit with Ms. Tasty. Ms. Tasty ended up being an accomplice in robbing people with her boyfriend and Ian was just another victim.
The ending included Ian and Felicia together, Lance finding someone to settle down with and brother Rex that was always picking on Ian about being gay was gay.
I recommend this movie for its new age comedy. From one to 10 I rate “Sex Drive” an eight.
