Role Models is witty and entertaining

Sneha Gulrajani

Role Models turned out to be a very witty and pleasing comedy that many people would enjoy. This film was starring Paul Rudd (Danny), Bobbie J. Thompson (Ronnie), Christopher Mintz-Plasse (Augie), and Seann William Scott (Wheeler). Danny and Wheeler are best friends who work for a company called Minotaur, which is an energy drink. They go around L.A area schools to represent their company and talk about why drugs are not healthy. After wrecking their companies truck, Danny and Wheeler get an ultimatum of either doing 150 hours of community service or going to jail for 30 days. In the movie, Danny is sick of his job and life overall, his attitude abouteverything is negative. His girlfriend, Elizabeth Banks who has been with him for about seven years, ends up moving out and breaking up with him. Wheeler is basically a big kid, he does not want to grow up and he has no goals in life, all he can think about is girls and just fooling around. Auggie and Ronnie attend Sturdy Wings which is an organization for troubled youths. Danny is assigned to Augie who is barely out of high school and cannot let go of this fantasy world in which he wears capes and carries swords. Wheeler is assigned to Ronnie who is a fifth grader with a bad mouth and is being raised by his single mom. So Wheeler and Danny have to put in 150 hours with these kids in order to get out of this troubled state in which they are in. These four do not want to be apart of this organization but are forced to be. But they come together and try to get through this for their different conditions that they are in. The main leader of Sturdy Wings is a troubled middle-aged lady who had drug addictions as a child. She tries to help Wheeler and Danny out, but at the same time she does not believe they can do it and threatens them to put them in jail if they make one mistake. Her acting was excellent in this movie, it was filled with lots of humor and energy. This medieval role playing battle in which Augie is in, tests all the characters and shows what their true selves are. Overall, the movie was extremely funny, in order to enjoy it to the fullest, I think you have to have a sense of humor. The comedy was great and gave the movie a whole new plot than others. So when you get the chance, watch Role Models in theaters because it is worth it.
