Barack Obama’s platform awakened sleeping collegiate voters. More young people than ever before came out to the polls Nov. 4 to vote for change in this country. We followed through by voting and now we are expecting the proposed ideas from our President-elect to actually happen.

ShakeOut rumbles Pierce and SoCal

G3: rocking out for recycling
The purpose of this event was to bring “more awareness on campus” and to not just focus on recycling, but “everything regarding sustainability,” said ASO President Christian Amatulli, 27.
CSU-transferring angst? Don’t be discouraged
In light of CSU campuses accepting 10,000 less students for the fall ’09 semester, Pierce College students that are planning on transferring to a university may feel discouraged.
Applications are up 20 percent this semester for CSU schools and 36 percent for transfer students.
Women’s volleyball beats San Bernardino
WOODLAND HILLS – The Pierce College women’s volleyball team beat the San Bernardino Valley College Wolverines on Wednesday. The Pierce team started strong on their season opening game by sweeping the Wolverines in three sets; 25-11, 25-20 and 25-14.
Voices of concern about budgets cuts
The Academic Senate Meeting Monday had a lot of different topics spoken about but the topic spoken about was the budget crisis. President Robert Garber spoke about how much money Pierce College would lose and the impact it could have.
Four Christmases movie review
Four Christmases was a great comedy filled with laughter. The plot of the story is basically about this happily unmarried couple who have been avoiding marriage and kids. They try to not spend thier Christmas with thier unbearable families but end up getting stuck with them because the fog ruins thier plans. So they have to get through four Christmases with thier four divorced parents.
Role Models is witty and entertaining
Role Models was a great comedy, it was filled with lots of humor. The plot of the story was different but in a good way. Basically the two main characters in the movie have to do community service to overcome the mistake that they made. It shows how the characters deal with the situation how far they go.
Heartbreaking home opener for men’s basketball
The Pierce College men’s basketball team lost their first home game of the season by three points Wednesday to Los Angeles City College in the final minutes of the game.
