Philip George

The final tabulations have been made and the Brahmas first postseason opponent ever has been revealed.

Pierce College, whose 23-9 record (9-3 within the Western State Conference North Divison) was good for the southern region’s 15th seeded position, will take on 18th seeded Citrus College in the regional play-in round Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the South Gym.

Citrus, 22-10 (8-4 within the WSC South). defeated the Brahmas, 68-65, in the semifinal round of the Brahma Thanksgiving Shootout in November, the two teams’ only meeting of the season.

The winner of Wednesday’s contest will earn a spot in the regional semifinal round against either Ventura College or Mt. San Antonio College. Ventura swept the Brahmas in two games this season while the Brahmas have not faced Mt. Sac.
