Los Angeles Pierce Symphonic Winds

Gary Moratz / Roundup

An evening of Music by Los Angeles Pierce Symphonic Winds.

The Valley Cultural Center in Woodland Hills continues its summer concerts with our very own Pierce Symphonic Winds doing a tribute to our armed forces.

Pierce Symphonic Winds consists of a 100 piece orchestra that is nationally recognized and critically acclaimed. The orchestra has been in existence for more than 25 years and has played in other countries such as Italy and Austria.

In 1995 the L.A. Winds put out a critically acclaimed CD “Raggin’ the Baby to Sleep” which had a compilation of original American ragtime music for bands. This release helped underscore the commitment to well known and lessor know bands by the L.A. Winds.

The upcoming performance will be cunducted by Colonel Arnald Gabriel, Conductor Emeritus, The United States Air Force Band and Dale Underwood, retired Master Chief Musician, US Navy, as special guests of the L.A. Winds.

You can see the L.A. winds perform in the summer concerts series on Sunday August 2 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.. The park is located at the Lou Bredlow Pavilion, 5800 Topanga Canyon Blvd. , Woodland Hills.
