Not quite a smoke-free campus

Anibal Ortiz / Roundup

A misleading story was published yesterday on the Roundup Web site that claimed that Pierce College had become a smoke-free campus.

The decision finalizing the policy has not yet taken place.

The Work Environment Committee is pushing for a smoke free campus and will be discussing it at the next Academic Senate Meeting, according to Doreen J. Clay, public relations specialist at Pierce.

This policy would restrict smoking on campus with the exceptions of parking lots 1-7.

The meeting is scheduled for 2:15 p.m. on Sept 28, 2009 in the Campus Center Conference Room.
