Beth Benne, director of the Health Center, has been nominated for the Health Services Association California Community Colleges’ next president elect.
The decision will take place Thursday March 4 at the HSACCC Annual State Business meeting in Sacramento, CA.
“The winner of the positions will be announced at the dinner meeting that same night,” said HSACCC President Becky Perelli.
According to Perelli, the call for nominations has just gone out. The complete list will be available in Feb 2., which is the same day ballots are sent out.
Benne is the only nominee at the moment. She is unclear if someone else will be nominated.
A member of the American Federation of Teachers, Benne would have to step down from her AFT position in order to take the president elect position.
“I am on AFT until June 30, which is when it ends,” said Benne.
The president elect position is one of the only two positions that will be decided at the conference. The other is recording secretary.
