Food Review

Bradley Rouse-Roundup

Last Sunday, I went to a “local place” of sorts called Henri’s Restaurant located on 21601 Sherman Way in Canoga Park. This place is a favorite spot for my uncle, so I decided to stop by and try it out for myself. In retrospect, I wish I tried the other items on the menu.

I purchased the turkey sandwich with some french fries on the side and a orange soda. To sum it up, it just was not very appetizing. The turkey was dry and cold and the only flavor I could taste on the sandwich was the mayo on the bread. The fries that came with my meal were cold as well. Either the drink or the glass it was in left a weird aftertaste after every sip.

The scenery was not appealing either. I was put in the bar area, which the lighting barely let me even see what was on my plate. The lights were dimmed at 10 a.m., which I don’t think is a time most places consider to be happy hour. It just was not the right complement to the meal.

The one bright side of the eating experience was the service. The waitress was quick with the refills, even during a busy time period. She also was able to bring the table’s food with haste. Everytime she came to the table was greated with a “can i help you?” and a smile.

I would love to give Henri’s another try, preferably with their breakfast.
