With the theme song of “The Golden Girls” blaring out of the speakers, Betty White walked out to the pink carpet to greet the press and the select few who were waiting to get their hands on her ‘Naked’ dog on Monday. White came out with a “pooch ambassador” from the Los Angeles Animal Services. The proceeds of the day one sales went to various L.A. shelters in the San Fernando Valley.

White was cracking jokes during the ribbon ceremony about the new hot dog named after her, The Betty White “Naked” Dog. “Well, it’s a naked hot dog and I wish they never thought of that,” White stated, with her tongue planted firmly in her cheek. The dog is is nothing more then a plain hot dog inside a bun, a prefrence of White.

The Pinks Hot Dog restaurant in CityWalk is first one located in the San Fernando Valley. Originally, the only places you could get the hot dogs were at the original location in Hollywood or various movie theaters in southern California. The franchise has expanded to other locations including Planet Hollywood and a fourth location opening soon in Los Angeles International Airport.

Pinks Hot Dogs is located in the food court in CityWalk in Universal City. It is only a ride on the Metro Orange Line and one stop on the Red Line subway to get to Pinks from Pierce College. The Original store is located at 709 N. La Brea blvd. in Los Angeles.
