A man was arrested by Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officers just outside the school entrance at the intersection of Winnetka Avenue and Victory Boulevard.

An anonymous call was put out to police saying that there was a man on the sidewalk yelling and harassing people walking by and hitting signs around 12:53 p.m., according to LAPD Officer Ferris.

Ferris was the first one to arrive on scene where he promptly detained the 56-year-old suspected vagrant named Chris.

After running a criminal check on the man it was discovered that the man had a warrant out for his arrest for parole violation. He was listed as a violent offender and potentially armed and dangerous.

“He’ll be going to jail…since this is a parole violation he will be ineligible for bail,” said Ferris.

“Always know your surroundings,” added Ferris, warning students to be careful when leaving the campus, as Woodland Hills has a huge homeless population.

The suspect had an electronic keyboard and a bottle of vodka on his person at the time of his arrest.
