Lail Stockfish / Roundup
Students will have to wait a little while longer for the green fences, blocking access to the mall to go down.
Construction of the Pierce College Mall is now set for completion at the end of November, rather than the beginning, despite last week’s report in the Roundup.
In Thursday’s Pierce College Council (PCC) meeting, David Tsao, Swinerton college project manager said, “due to some unforeseen underground situation, opening [of the mall] is going to be pushed closer to Thanksgiving.”
Those unforeseen circumstances, according to Tsao, had to do with a faculty perception of the underground piping.
“By the time we dug, the pipes were different,” he said.
He also mentioned that part of the delay was to do with things that are likely going to need repair in the near future.
“Like we discussed in the meeting, we are making provisions for some future stuff, ” he said.
