On Oct. 11, 12 and 13, the Pierce College Farm will be occupied by NBC Universal for the filming of a new episode of “Parks and Recreation.”
In its third season on the air, the episode being filmed is the seventh of the current season.
According to Production Assistant Wade Feehan, the episode being filmed is titled “Harvest Fest”, and filming will take place in the corn maze and carnival area.
Pierce College was chosen as the set because of its fall festivities and proximity to Los Angeles.
“We needed a corn maze and a fall festival,” said Producer Morgan Sackett. “It’s hard to find this kind of setup in L.A., so we picked this location a few months ago.”
The location is perfect for NBC because they will be able to take full advantage of everything that is in place now.
“Everything was set up when we arrived,” said Feehan.
However, NBC still decided to add some of its own set.
“We added booths and banners and we are going to put up a ferris wheel,” said Sackett.
Amy Poehler was on the set Monday morning, according to Sackett.
However, Tuesday will be the main filming day.
“[Tuesday] we will have over 300 extras on set along with the full cast,” said Sackett.
Although the show is being filmed now, it does not have a set airing date, according to Sackett.
