Pierce College instructor Carolyn Mallory will soon choose two students to work with her on a project with the Spitzer Science Center and its team of astronomers. The program will allow teachers and students to work side-by-side with real scientists in an effort to research new stars being born in faraway regions of space.

“Children of Abraham” Blurb
Sharon Siskin’s “Children of Abraham” currently being displayed in the newly renovated Pierce Art Gallery, proposes a dialogue to bring Arab and Israeli’s closer to peace.
It features Arab and Jewish children’s learning books that are mended together into one open flapped page.
The artist used various symbolic tools such as butterfly bandages, yarn, zippers, clasps and more combined with the feminine skill of sewing to represent the mending of the very deep wounds between the cultures.
She calls it “[her]prayer for healing.”
The exhibit will stay in the Art Gallery until April 15th and is open to the public free of charge.
Hours are Monday 9 – 5 p.m. Tuesday 9 – 2 p.m, 3:30 – 5 p.m. Wednesday 9-7 p.m. and Thursday 9-5 p.m.
