Swinging Bake Sale

Wearing vintage dresses in almost every color, the members of the Street Dance Club held a bake goods sale filled with Valentine’s Day inspired cup cakes today.

According to Shana Lockey, who has been dancing for eleven years, the purpose of the sale was to raise funds that will pay for competition fees, costumes and transportation expenses.

“We’re in the process of looking for a place where we can offer free swing classes to the community,” said Lockey.  “These funds would also help us do that.”

Each semester, the performing teams of the Street Dance Club host a dance on campus.

This spring, members are choreographing their new piece called “Big and Bad”.

The Street Dance Club will be participating in a local “Rummage Sale” Saturday and Sunday 5:30a.m. to 3:30p.m.

The “Rummage Sale” will be located on De Soto and Burbank.
