Campus hosts CSUN/UCLA Day

Representatives from California State Northridge (CSUN) and the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) were on The Mall Wednesday afternoon answering and giving information to future and incoming fall transferring students.

“Getting admitted and can they apply in the spring,” said Charnae Bailey one of the financial aid workers from CSUN were the common questions asked by students. “Some incoming transfer students haven’t received their letter from financial aid, so they want to know when they will hear from us.”

In addition to the financial aid booths from both CSUN and UCLA there were also booths from different department’s members of the College of Business and Economics from CSUN and the Chicana/o Studies Department from UCLA were also in The Mall answering questions.

“We want to make ourselves visible to let students know there is a department were they can learn the history, literature, art and politics,” said Ellie Hernandez a Student Advisor in the Chicano and Chicana Studies Department from UCLA “We let students know there is a department Chicana and Chicano Studies and that students can actually get a degree in Chicano and Chicana Studies and do so many things with that.”

The College of Business from CSUN was not just offering information about their department. “We are offering overall information about the college, the different departments, and majors,” Wendy Rivera  a faculty member  of the College of Business “In addition we are offering information on undergraduate degrees, also we have information of graduate programs.”
