Students may have the opportunity to vote on whether or not to save the I-TAP program but keeping it around will come with a cost according to A.S.O. President Gabriel Melibosky.
The I-TAP program that many students have counted upon at many different colleges in the LACCD was canceled a semester ago. Talks have been ongoing as to what can be done to bring it back.
“Unfortunately it’s a lose, lose situation,” said Melibosky. “Either every student will have to pay higher tuition to keep the program for the few who use it or we have to scrap the whole thing.”
The tuition increase who be around 15 to 20 dollars per student every semester.
“I am trying to convince the LACCD to approve a campus wide vote to determine the outcome of the program,” said Melibosky. “I would like the students to have a say instead of us having to make the choice for them.”
The program that was originally offered free to students from Metro is now more expensive for college students than for Businesses according to Melibosky.
