Brahmas’ midfielder Jessica Gonzalez lead the way with two goals in Pierce’s second win of the season on Tuesday at Palomar College.
Head coach Adolfo Perez continues to lead the women’s soccer team to victory with a crushing 4-0 win against the Palomar Comets.
“We’re coming together as a team and we’re becoming a very strong unit,” said head coach Perez after the game.
Success can be attributed to all of the team since every player on the Pierce’s soccer roster saw action during Tuesday’s game, including sophomore Jessica Gonzalez who scored the first two goals, as well as defender Joyce Melara and forward Marlene Mejia who each scored a goal.
Pierce’s goalies Emily Ortiz and Andrea Ulloa kept it a shut out game with five collective saves to ensure the team’s win.
Right after the game ended the team quickly shifted its focused to their first conference game against Ventura College. “We’re really looking forward to playing Ventura,” said Jessica Gonzalez.
That confrontation will have to wait because Pierce will be hosting Golden West College at 4 p.m. on Friday at The Pit before they take on Ventura on Monday.
