Accreditation for Pierce College

Pierce College is getting ready for the Accreditation Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC) to come to campus during March 2013 to evaluate the college and determine whether the college is meeting all the proper standards.

Pierce College receives a visit from ACCJC every six years.

“Pierce College largely meets the standards, according to Assistant Professor of Philosophy and Faculty Accreditation Coordinator Mia Wood.

She also said that we still need to work on some areas, but that is why there was a Self-Evaluation created.

The Self-Evaluation is a research report that focuses on the documentation and evaluation of the institutions functions.

There are nine accreditation committees and students can join to learn more about the accreditation process and what it entails.
