The Latin American Culture and Literature Club showed potential members during Club Rush on Wednesday the passion they have for their club with their literary magazine, upcoming events, and smiling faces.
The club started with a few students who had an interest in Latin American music, culture, and literature, and grew as more members joined. Club President Anayeli Villanueva encourages all students with an enthusiasm for Latin American culture to join.
The club publishes a bilingual student-produced literary magazine called “Tertulia,” and organizes events centered around Latin American culture.
The club presented on Oct. 5 “Sabor Latino,” an event to celebrate Latino Heritage Month. The event was held in the Great Hall. There were student performances, dances and food from a variety of Latin American countries.
There are no fees required to join the club. The Latin American Culture and Literature Club meets in room 3100 Mondays from 3:30 to 5 p.m., and on Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Students who are interested are welcome to attend club meetings and upcoming events.
Students can also contact the club through their e-mail address, laclclub@gmail.com, Facebook or Twitter.
