Less traffic personnel due to better parking conditions

The steady decrease in students parking has resulted in the decrease of traffic control services hired at the beginning of the semester, according to the Pierce senior lead deputy.

The additional personnel were hired in order to direct expected parking congestion, but because there weren’t as many cars parking on campus halfway through last week the Sheriffs Department cut down on their services, Senior Lead Deputy Ron Nohles said.

“I’ve been getting lucky and getting parking [in Lot 1],” said business administration major Matthew Franco, 19.

This week, there will be no additional traffic control moderators in parking lots other than in Parking Lot 1, said Nohles.

“Maybe this week, things might get better,” said Rick Smith, one of the drivers of the campus shuttle.
