Sunny skies set the mood for the Brahmas’ baseball team as they defeat the East L.A. College Huskies at home on Saturday.
Pierce flipped the page after hard losses against Ventura and came on top in this one by 5-2.
“I think we were really flat today, we had no energy and we were just kind of down,” said pitcher Tyler Peddicord.
Pierce players found their energy thought, because they picked up the pace in the fourth inning when they jumped ahead two runs against the Huskies, who had scored one in the second.
“We played a pretty solid game,” said pitcher Zach Friedman.
Pierce at bat in the seventh, outfielder Bobby Cortes sprinted and slid into home for a run, Matt Sanchez followed with a two-RBI hit.
Marlene Mejia, a freshman supporterfelt frustrated at the beginning.
“I think they need to make more contact with the ball and get some runs in, hopefully they can step it up,” said Marlene
