Calling all zombies, goblins, and ghouls

Calling all zombies, goblins, and ghouls

Dressing up may feel outdated to some students, but awakening your inner child is always timeless.

Anyone yearning to unlock their inner zombie is invited to audition for a part in the Pierce College Farm Center’s annual Harvest Festival in Woodland Hills, Calif. where scaring someone silly is all in a night’s work.

Weekly auditions have been held every Saturday since Aug. 25 from 3- 7 p.m. at the Farm Center with one last audition on Sept. 15.

Last year’s casting call drew in about 60-75 people, according to haunt coordinator Michael Keane.

The festival opens on Sept. 28. The auditions are open to everyone, regardless of age or status as a student, according to Keane.

If you are under 18, you will need the consent of a parent in order to work the event.

In order to apply, you arrive at the Farm Center at 3 p.m., fill out an application and wait for your name to be called.

Once your name is called, you will be having a quick interview with the coordinator himself.

After the interviews, applicants will be asked to follow directions.

They will also be asked to create their own character for the festival.

Mastering facial expressions, body postures and voice control are obvious requirements.

More importantly, Keane says he needs people with energy and the ability to hold a character.

Knowing how to have fun is also a must, according to Keane.

“Prior experience never hurts, but it is not a necessity,” Keane added.
