Flu shots are available at the Student Health Center for $10, and the window to vaccinate is coming to a close.
There are 36 vaccines left after the center’s largest annual supply of flu vaccines to date, Health Center Director Beth Benne said on Monday.
“The flu season is becoming active as we speak. It’s time right now to get the vaccine,” Benne said. “We’ve had some flu, so I really want students to get the vaccine. I want them in people by the end of the month.”
If students feel ill in class or on campus, they should immediately go to the Health Center to prevent the spread of illness among students and faculty.
After a visit to the Health Center, Benne can write a doctor’s note, releasing the student from school or work for a number of days.
Appointments are recommended and take about 5 minutes.
“We run it like a clinic, but we prefer appointments,” Benne said.
