Some campus phone lines are down

An integral piece of equipment that controls some of Pierce College’s telephone lines has been inoperable since Thursday, according to an email sent to the school’s faculty and staff on Monday.

The email was sent by the college’s Manager of College Information Systems, Mark Henderson, who said that a faulty node was the cause.

“The phone node that controls the phones in the current library building, [Computer Applications and Office Technologies and music buildings], and some faculty offices ceased to become operable last Thursday,” Henderson said in the email.

Henderson said the school is working with service providers KTS Networks Inc. and ShoreTel Inc. to remedy the situation.

“We are working with KTS and ShoreTel to migrate all these areas,” Henderson said. “We’re trying to work to bring the new one up.”
