A pilot episode for a new MTV comedy series is being filmed at Pierce College.

“Faking It” — a working title, according to The Hollywood Reporter — is a 30-minute comedy by the creator of “10 Things I Hate About You” that focuses on two best friends who pretend “to be something they’re not” to gain popularity at their school.

The best friends are invited to a party after being mistaken for lesbians, according to Production Designer Liz Kay.

Production began today at 6:30 a.m. and will continue through Sunday, according to Kay. The show’s production crew is filming inside the old library, in the art quad and on top of the South Gym.

“If it gets picked up, in a perfect world, we would take over [the old library] for a couple of years,” Kay said.

The old library, which was recently replaced with a newly-constructed building, is currently not in use.

“Faking It” is one of the first scripted comedy pilots ordered by MTV under its new programming president, according to THR.

The show stars Gregg Sulkin from “Wizards of Waverly Place,” “American Idol’s” Katie Stevens, Rita Volk from “Rizzoli & Isles” and “Bunheads” alum Bailey Buntain, according to THR.
