Women’s soccer wins fourth game in a row

Pierce College’s women’s soccer team continues with its winning streak, beating Cuesta College 3-1 on Tuesday Oct. 15, making this the seven win of the season.

This win puts the women’s soccer team at an overall record of 7-3-2 for this season. It is also the fourth consecutive win and longest win streak so far this season, as the team continues to grow and improve.

Head coach Adolfo Perez says that the team’s current strategy has been working well for them: sticking to what the team has been doing the past few games of the season, and working hard during practice sessions.

“Stick to what’s been working for us,” Perez said, emphasizing the teams persistent practice and work during this season.

Each individual player is playing stronger each game as well, alongside the overall team improvement and growth.

“Jackie played very well and scored a great goal,” Perez said.

The game was hard-fought on both sides, according to Perez. Cuesta pushed hard through both halves, but was beat out by Pierce in the end.

“I think they played well, considering the three hour drive they went through,” Perez said.

With the team picking up speed and skill with their games, the coach hopes for more to come see and support their team at the games.

“I hope more people come to the game,” Perez said.

The next game for Pierce is on Friday at Oxnard College at 4 p.m., while the next home game will be on Tuesday against Moorpark College at the same time.
