Award winning Los Angeles-based photographer, Kirk McKoy, will be the next featured speaker in the Media Arts Speaker Series on Thursday, March 13 at 7 p.m.
Kirk McKoy will be sharing his photographs as well as his experience working for news organizations and as a portrait photographer.
“I’ll talk a little bit about the Los Angeles riots, celebrity portraits, working for the Los Angeles Times, a little about sports and I’ll probably wrap it up with my experience with 9/11,” he said.
According to his biography, McKoy has won several awards from established organizations including Pictures of the Year International, the National Press Photographers Association, the Society of News Design and World Press, along with covering the L.A. riots and the Northridge earthquake.
Open to the public, the event will take place at the Great Hall. Refreshments will be served. Parking is available in Lot 1 off Brahma Dr. and Winnetka Ave.
