Pierce wins award for GO Days program

Pierce College received an award for its outstanding community college program, according to an email by Academic Senate President Kathy Oborn.

Counselor and GO Days Coordinator Joanna Zimring-Towne submitted an application on the GO Days program to the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges (ASCCC) Exemplary Program Award.

The Executive Committee of the ASCCC selects two college programs to receive $4000, and gave out four honorable mention awards.

Pierce was one of the four schools to receive an honorable mention, and Zimring-Towne will be traveling to Sacramento for a Board of Governors meeting in January to receive the award for Pierce according to the email by Oborn.
