Sheriff’s deputies and paramedics responded to a woman who had a seizure near the student services building Thursday.

Chris Lauterdale, an employee in the Pierce College honor society, was not injured when she suffered a seizure on Thursday.

“I have seizures from a massive head injury that I sustained 25 years ago in a car accident,” said Lauterdale. “It was the night before school started here at Pierce.”

Lauterdale stood upright and spoke lucidly about the event, and said she was accustomed to the seizures.

“I have to live with this, I have a pretty good sense of humor about it. As I was showing the one EMT, I have a gold bracelet out of it,” said Lauterdale, as she showed off her gold medical ID band.

Lauterdale received the necessary treatment and managed to get back on her feet. She says she’s been suffering from seizures all her life so she’s used to the paramedic procedures.

Lauterdale did not leave with the paramedics.
