Pierce College President Kathleen Burke is one of five finalists being considered for the position of president at El Camino College in Torrance.
Burke will be at the El Camino College campus on Oct. 5 for a forum featuring the five finalists, all of whom have both community college and administrative experience.
This is the second time this year Burke has considered taking a job outside Pierce. In the spring, she was considered for the position of LACCD vice chancellor, but that offer was rescinded.
According to figures from www.transparentcalifornia.com – a website which lists the salaries of public servants – current El Camino College president Tom Fallo’s pay including benefits was $390,806 in 2013, the latest year on record. The site lists Burke’s salary at Pierce, including benefits, as $227,806 that same year.
Fallo will retire from the position in February after 20 years as president.
Burke has not yet responded to requests for comment.
